Author's Note

Jim Nelson of Klamath, California, originated this pattern in 1952 and named it after C. E. "Big Henry" Sainsbury of Santa Monica, California. The first version of this fly used blue heron barbs for the rear portion of the body and hackle. Obviously this was a short-lived practice.
