Ribbing - Oval gold tinsel
Body - Rear third, dubbed with red lamb's wool; the front two-thirds, dubbed with black lamb's wool
Hackle - Black tied on as a collar and tied back
Wing - Dyed black squirrel tail tied over the body
Author's Note
Clarence Gordon originated this pattern while he was working as a guide at North Umpqua's Steamboat Lodge. This fly has since been used successfully from Alaska to California.
