Hook - Single salmon

Thread - Black

Ribbing - Oval silver tinsel

Body - Rear third, yellow floss; the front two-thirds, thirds, dubbed with claret rabbit fur

Hackle - Claret tied on as a collar and tied back

Wing - Natural brown bucktail tied over the body

Author's Note

Ward Cummings and Clarence Gordon originated this pattern in the 1930s for Oregon's Umpqua River. It is still a popular pattern with many anglers.
